How Much Does a Santorini Wine Tour Cost? 2026 Prices and What You Get

Updated October 2026 · Written by the Santorini Wine Adventure team

Short answer: in 2026 a Santorini wine tour costs €140–€150 per person on a small-group tour (three wineries, 12 tastings, cheese and snacks, hotel pickup), or from €500 for one or two guests on a private tour with your own guide and vehicle. Private tours that add a full meal, a cooking class or the Akrotiri excavations run €600–€800 for one or two guests, and the price per person falls as your group grows. Below are the exact prices for every tour we run, what they include, and which one is the best value for your group.

What is included in the price?

Every tour price covers the same core: pickup and return from your hotel, Airbnb or (on most private tours) the port or airport in an air-conditioned Mercedes-Benz vehicle; a guide who is a wine expert or sommelier; visits to two or three wineries; every tasting and admission fee; and taxes. You do not pay anything at the wineries unless you decide to buy bottles to take home.

  • Food: the small-group and private “adventure” and sunset tours include local cheese, snacks and tapas with the wines, not a full meal. The lunch, dinner and cooking-class tours include a three-course meal.
  • Number of wines: most tours pour 12 different wines from Santorini and the rest of Greece, from dry Assyrtiko and oak-aged Nykteri to sweet Vinsanto. The wines-and-towns and cooking-class tours pour 8 because part of the time goes to sightseeing or cooking.
  • Not included: tips (optional) and, for cruise passengers, the Fira cable car ticket.

Small group or private: which is cheaper?

Per adult, the small-group tour is always the cheapest way to do a full three-winery tour. A couple pays €280 in total for the morning small-group tour against €500 for the private version, so going private costs a couple about €110 more each. The gap narrows with a bigger group: at five guests the private morning tour is €170 each against €140 on the shared tour.

The private tour can still be the better deal in three situations:

  • You are travelling with children or teenagers. Guests under 18 cannot join the small-group tours, but they can join private wine tours free of charge, so a family of four pays the adult price only.
  • You want to choose the time, the wineries or the pace. A private tour can start later, skip a winery or spend longer at a favourite, and you can add stops on the way.
  • You want a meal included. Adding a full lunch or dinner to a small-group tour is not possible; on a private tour it is built in.

Why Santorini wine tours cost more than in many other regions

Santorini wine is expensive to make. The vines grow low to the ground in basket shapes (kouloura) to survive the wind, every grape is picked by hand, and yields are among the lowest of any wine region because there is almost no rain in summer. That is why good Santorini Assyrtiko costs more per bottle than most Greek whites, and aged Vinsanto more again. Twelve tastings at three different estates, with the transport and a specialist guide, is why a quality tour costs what it does. If you want to know what you will be tasting, read what Assyrtiko is and our guide to Vinsanto and Nykteri.

How to get the best value

  • Couples on a budget: the morning small-group tour at €140 per person gives you the same three wineries and 12 wines as the private version.
  • Want the sunset? The small-group sunset tour is only €10 more than the morning one and ends with the view from the caldera at Santo Wines.
  • Groups of five or more: private tours become close in price to the shared tours, so it is usually worth having the vehicle and guide to yourselves.
  • Want lunch anyway? A private tour with the meal included (from €200 per person for 5+ guests) saves booking a tour and a restaurant separately, and the meal is served at a winery with its own wines.
  • Book directly. We operate these tours ourselves, so there is no reseller margin, and you can cancel free of charge up to 72 hours before the start.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a wine tour in Santorini?

A small-group wine tour costs €140 per person in the morning or €150 per person at sunset. Private wine tours start at €500 for one or two guests, with lower per-person prices for larger groups.

Is food included on a Santorini wine tour?

Cheese, snacks or tapas are included on every tour. A full three-course lunch or dinner is included only on the lunch, dinner, towns and cooking-class tours.

Do I pay extra at the wineries?

No. All tastings, winery admissions and taxes are included. You only pay at a winery if you choose to buy bottles.

Are tips included?

No. Gratuities are optional and at your discretion.

Is a private wine tour worth the extra cost?

For families with children, groups of five or more, or anyone who wants to set their own timing or include a meal, usually yes. For a couple who just wants the wineries and the tastings, the small-group tour is better value.

Can I cancel if my plans change?

Yes. Cancellation is free up to 72 hours before departure with a full refund. If we have to cancel, for example because of weather, you also get a full refund.
